Air Arabia, a low-cost airline with its head office in the Sharjah, UAE, is making regular flights from the third largest city of the UAE Sharjah to Shymkent in the southern Kazakhstan starting from March 16, Tengrinews reports.
The Shymkent-Sharjah flights will be made by Airbus 320s every Tuesday and Sunday, and the return flights are scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays.
“Kazakhstan is a rapidly emerging economy with a very bright future, and we have accordingly prioritised building our route network in the country. As two major oil producers, there are obvious links between the UAE and Kazakhstan, and we also see real potential for broader trade and tourism ties, which makes us confident of the success of this new service to Shymkent,” the CEO of the airline company Adel Ali said.
Now Air Arabia is the only operator in the UAE serving 3 destinations in Kazakhstan, including Almaty, Astana and Shymkent.
