Over 60 companies take part in Kazakh-Polish business forumOver 60 companies of Kazakhstan and Poland are taking part in the Kazakh-Polish business forum.

“A level of political and economic relations between our countries reached high rates. This business forum is one of the results of our mutually beneficial cooperation”, Kazakh Vice Minister of industry and Trade Yerkhat Iskaliyev said opening the forum.

He expressed hope that the forum will help establish contacts between the Kazakh and Polish business circles, and reveal investment opportunities of both countries.

Polish Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak heads the Polish delegation, which includes representatives of the largest companies in the sphere of construction, agriculture, pharmacy, industry, oil and gas.

In the course of the forum the participants plan to discuss the issues of trade-economic cooperation, establish business contacts, opportunities of joint productions creation, and issues of investment projects umplementation in the two countries in different sectors of economy.

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Poland made up USD 524 mln in Jan-Jul, 2009

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Poland made up USD 524 mln in January-July, 2009. Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yerkhat Iskaliyev has announced it at the Kazakh-Polish business forum.

According to him, export share made up USD 342.8 mln, import – USD 181.2 mln.

“For the last years horizons of our cooperation expanded. Poland became one of the main trade partners in Central and Eastern Europe”, Y.Iskaliyev noted.

“Kazakhstan has great resources and opportunities. We know that Poland is strong in agricultural technologies, marketing activity, business”, he said.

In the course of the forum the Kazakh Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Polish-Kazakh Commerce and Industry Chamber of Poland signed a Memorandum of cooperation, and the Kazakh Employers Confederation and the Polish Employers Confederation – an agreement on cooperation.

Kazakhstan and Poland extend economic cooperating

Second session of the Kazakh-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation has been held today in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The session was chaired by Executive Secretary of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Rapil Zhoshybayev from the Kazakh side and Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak from the polish side.

R.Zhoshybayev complimented wide prospects fro the bilateral cooperation of Astana and Warsaw. According to him, the Kazakh side appreciates the support of Poland in the coming Kazakhstan’s OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and in the realization of Kazakh “Path to Europe” program.

W.Pawlak expressed interest of Poland in the extension of its participation in the Kazakh economy. In particular, Warsaw is ready to propose its services in the field of modernization of the Kazakh power plants.

Besides, issues of the transport sector were discussed at the session as well. The sides are interested in establishment of direct air links. Polish LOT Air Line Company made concrete proposals on this issue. The Kazakh representatives proposed to use the Kazakh transit potential in establishment of new routs from China to Europe. 

Prospects for cooperation between two countries in agriculture, healthcare, tourism, education, science, and social protection of the population, support of small and medium business were discussed as well.
