We also took into account that the Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture company has extensive experience not only in construction but also in the green economy. The offered project will be a model in the green energy and further construction should be based on this experience, – the President said.
– To Kazakhstan and the entire region, it will be a good example that the exhibition complex will simultaneously produce solar and wind energy, also the energy from waste recycling. To us it is a unique complex, first of the kind, – he went on.
N.Nazarbayev re-emphasized that after the exhibition, the EXPO 2017 space has to be used for the people’s benefit.
– Construction of a 500 meter fully covered street, starting from the Nazarbayev University is now under consideration, with malls on the first two floors of the buildings, hotels, apartments and office areas on the rest 3 floors. I’ve already spoken about the covered city, and now this idea is to be materialized. Besides, there will be a huge open stage, a new Congress Hall for a- 3 000 audience. All that is for the people’s convenience, N.Nazarbayev emphasized.
In turn, the founder of the mentioned architectural company Adrian Smith said that the main source of alternative energy for the EXPO 2017 complex will be solar energy. On their project, 48 % of energy will be saved thanks to the building’s design, its contours , energy-saving materials and panels. In fact, this building will be completely energy efficient, which is consistent with the company’s philosophy. They are looking to construction of energy-efficient and energy-enduring buildings that generate own energy and save electricity. Cutting-edge materials and technologies will be used in the constriction, – said A. Smith.
Minister of Environment and Water Resources Mr. Kapparov observed that A. Smith has more than 45 years of experience in this field and in all this time had designed 5 of the 12 tallest buildings in the world, including the Burj Khalifa in the UAE and the Kingdom Towers in Saudi Arabia.
An engineering company has been selected, which will control the timing and quality of construction, the Akorda press service says.
