«Astana Ballet» creative tour kicks off in Beijing


«Astana Ballet» creative tour kicks off in BeijingThursday, November 7, in the framework of the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in China at the Beijing Concert Hall «Century Theatre» has been held a solo concert of «Astana Ballet» dance troupe.

Residents and visitors to Beijing were performed a multi-genre repertoire which included the Kazakh, Malaysian, Indian, Korean, Turkish, Chinese folk dances. There were also performed dance routines set to the music of the world classics – “Scheherazade” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, “Seven Beauties” by Kara Karaev and “Polovtsian Dances” by Alexander Borodin.

The concert program amazed the spectators by extraordinary choreographic compositions. For example, the dance of “Karlygash” was set by the American choreographer Paul Emerson to the music of the British composer Karl Jenkins who was admired by the Kazakh culture.

Yang Jiechi, a member of the State Council of China, and Cheng Guoping, the Vice Foreign Minister, were the guests of honor at the concert .

«Astana Ballet» creative tour is being carried out within the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in China from November 5 to 11 in the largest cultural centers of Beijing and Shanghai.

The idea of creating a new dance troupe belongs to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Kazakh President. As a result of careful selection there was formed a team of 27 girls with professional choreographic education who are the best graduates of the Selezneva Almaty Choreographic School.
