Kazakhstan harvested more than 15 mln tons of grainAs of October 16 of this year, agricultural producers harvested more than 15 million hectares of crops accounting for 95.8% of all areas under crops across the country, according to the web-site of the Kazakh Prime Minister.

“According to the regional departments of agriculture, as of 16 October 2013 agricultural producers harvested 15,079,600 ha, or 95.8% of the area under crops,” the Ministry said.

20 million tons of grain has already been harvested. The average crop yield is 13.3 centners per hectare. In 2012, the average crop yield was 8.4 centners per hectare.

The harvest was fully finished in Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, South Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and East Kazakhstan regions.
