Kazakh cyclist wins «Tour of Almaty»

Almaty has hosted the first professional cycling race named “Tour of Almaty”.
The competition was started by the Akim of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the press office of the governor informs.
Maxim Iglinskiy has become the winner of “Tour of Almaty” representing the national team of Kazakhstan. Second place went to Sonny Solberelli from Bardiani Valvole-CSF Inox, the third place wasawarded to the Kazakhstani Ruslan Tleubayev. Another citizen of Kazakhstan Alexey Lutsenko was named the best sprinter of the race.
“Tour of Almaty” is the first bicycle race under aegis of the UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale) which was held in Kazakhstan. It was attended by 20 teams from 20 countries. Among them are 3 professional teams, 12 continental teams, 3 national, 1 regional and 1 club team. Pat McQuaid, former UCI president, also has attended this remarkable sports event.
