Almaty hosts Kazakhstan Open 2013The 9th international golf tournament Kazakhstan Open 2013 within European Challenge Tour started in Nurtau Golf Club in Almaty today.

This year’s tournament involved 132 golf players from 44 countries, including first “hundred” professionals rated European Challenge Tour and ten players representing Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan open-2013 prize fund will be EURO 400,000 – one of the largest in the history of European Challenge Tour.

The Vice President of Nurtas Golf Club Serik Sultangaliyev noted the special role of mass media in golf development in the country. According to him, Kazakhstan open tournament initiated by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev had played the great trole in our county’s promotion at the international scene.

The Head of the Kazakhstan Open 2013 thanked all Kazakhstanis for the warm reception and the professional preparation of infrastructure. He stressed the importance of «Kazakhstan Open» for the participants of the European challenge tour tournament. As the victory will open the door to the European golf elite. The peculiarity of the tournament – is that it not only has the largest prize pool in its series, but also is held at the last moment of the world golf season.
