Astana to host IX International Conference 'Trans Eurasia - 2014'The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan will be organizing “The Days of Transport of Kazakhstan -2014” on May 19-21, 2014, the Ministry’s press service said.

“This event will be held in the framework of the 7th Astana Economic Forum and the 2nd World Anti-Crisis conference to take place on May 21-23, 2014,” according to a statement.

The program of the event includes the following activities: The 11th International Conference ‘Trans Eurasia-2014’ and the International exhibition ‘Transit Kazakhstan 2014’, which will showcase the latest achievements of the transport industry of the Eurasian region.

“In addition, meetings will be held at the level of Ministers of Transport of Turkic-speaking states of the Common Economic Space, round tables devoted to the implementation of concession projects in transport sector and improvement of Kazakhstan’s transit potential,” the statement says.

These events will provide a comprehensive vision of all types of modern transport and logistics systems for transit, the prospects for further development of the transport infrastructure in Kazakhstan, the dynamics of growth in transit traffic in the Eurasian area, and will also contribute to strengthening the image of Kazakhstan as a transit country.

“The Days of Transport” were held on regular basis once every two years from 1997 to 2008, and now – once in three years, Kazinform refers to trend.az.

It is expected that the “Days of Transport of Kazakhstan -2014” will be attended by about 500 people from more than 30 countries, including the delegation of transport authorities of the countries of Europe, Asia, the CIS and the Baltic States, the heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in Kazakhstan, representatives of more than 15 international and financial organizations, about 100 foreign transport companies as well as more than 60 largest companies in Kazakhstan.
