Kazakh Russian Governments expected to ink a range of documents
ORENBURG. September 11. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Nursultan Nazarbayev and Dmitriy Medvedev had a bilateral meeting in Orenburg.
As D.Medvedev noted, the Forum of cross border cooperation has transformed into the Forum of interregional cooperation that displays the relations between the countries to the fullest extent. “Interregional trade ensures the major part of the trade turnover between our countries”, he said.
Besides, the Russian President noted that the process of realization of the joint action plans for 2009-2010 will be discussed at the meeting as well.
N.Nazarbayev said that several documents were prepared for signing today. Besides, the Kazakh President noted that heads of the regions will be able to share opinions on topical issues within the forum. “Today the meeting is devoted to the energy sector. We have many issues to discuss here, particularly energy conservation”, N.Nazarbayev said. The Head of the State also complimented the work of the two countries on establishment of the Customs Union.
In the course of the forum it is expected to sign the agreements on construction and operation of the third block of the Ekibastuz thermal power plant; development and realization of joint works programs in military-technical cooperation; cooperation in joint control at the Kazakh-Russian state border.
