National atomic company Kazatomprom (Kazakhstan) announces 2013 Q1 operating results

JSC “National atomic company “Kazatomprom” (Astana), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release of May 2, 2013:
Based on results of the first quarter 2013 the volume of uranium produced by the group of companies JSC “NAC “Kazatomprom” made up 4,979 tons, which corresponds with the plan figures.
The volume of uranium produced by JSC “NAC “Kazatomprom” taking into account holdings in subsidiaries and affiliates, made up 2,785 tons in the first quarter 2013.
General production indicators on “Ulbi Metallurgy Plant” are in line with plan figures. In the first quarter 2013 beryllium-based products made up 606 tons, tantalum-based products – 54 tons.
LLP “MAEK-Kazatomprom” produced 1,242 mln KWt*hour of electricity, 983 thousand Gkal of heat, 267 mln. cub metres of water, including 2.24 mln cubic metres of drinking water for consumers in Aktau and Mangistau in the first three months of 2013. These volumes cover the region’s demand for energy resources and water.
In accordance with Kazatomprom’s development program in the 1st quarter the work along the Company’s strategic lines – conversion, enrichment and production of nuclear fuel – continued.
