Kazakhstan appoints EXPO-2017 commissioner

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed a commissioner for the EXPO-2017 internationalized specialized exhibition, the press service of the head of state said on Wednesday.
“Decree of the President appointed the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Rapil Zhoshybayev the Commissioner of the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017,” a statement said.
Rapil Zhoshybayev was born in 1963. He graduated from Kyrgyz State University and St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance with a PhD in Economics. He speaks English and has the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the First Class.
He has been doing the scientific work since 1985. Since 1993 – Third Secretary, Second Secretary of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From October 2004 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. From October 2007 – Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He has been awarded the “Dostyk” medal, commemorative medals “Kazakhstan Respublikasynyn tauelsizdigine zhyl 10”, “10 zhyl Konstitutsiyasyna Kazakhstan”, “Kazakhstan Respublikasynyn Parlamentine 10 zhyl.”
