Significant progress was made in economy. In the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum, our country is 51st. He emphasized that the Eurasian integration has not and will not pursue “rebirth” of the USSR that sunk into oblivion. – Integration of Eurasia is our strategic advantage over the global challenges of the third industrial revolution. It is our joint headstart for a new technological order, with Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus remaining independent states and pursuing own national interests.
N.Nazarbayev called speculations on the attempted Soviet Union’s restoration groundless and left-overs of the cold war times’ idea of the world.
The past year, he noted, saw the 20th anniversary of our diplomatic relations with most of the world states. They gave a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation with many international partners.
Success in the foreign policy, he went on, would have been unthinkable without the peace and harmony in the Kazakh society, economic growth, improving the quality of Kazakhstanis’ life.
However, as he has repeatedly said, the progress made is no cause for complacency. A new strategy throughout the year 2050 was adopted in response to new challenges and threats, that differ from those at the end of last century, the target of which is ranking among 30 advanced world nations.
Broaching the intended transition to Latin alphabet the President said that it makes the language more usable in the time of information technologies and the Internet. There are no political preferences behind this decision. We pursue multivector humanitarian and cultural ties with all other nations of the world, – said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
