Sec of State to take part in UN Disarmament Conference

Official spokesperson of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Ashikbayev has informed of the events scheduled for this week at a weekly briefing today.

Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev will pay a working visit to Japan on August 24-26 to take part in the UN Nuclear Disarmament Conference From Niigata to whole world: confirmation of decisiveness and actions on establishment of nuclear free world. The Sec of State is expected to have bilateral meetings with the members of the Japanese Government and international politicians and experts in non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons in Tokyo and Niigata.

Kazakhstan-Russia consultations regarding tolerance issues are scheduled to be held in Astana on August 25.

On August 24-25 Kazakh and Uzbek Foreign Offices will hold consultations. Kazakhstani side will be headed by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nurlan Yemekbayev and Uzbekistani side will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Bakhtier Islamov.

On August 28 Astana will host a session of the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The agenda of the sitting includes such issues as preparation for the OSCE chairmanship in 2010, the course of realization of Path to Europe state program as well as simplification of visa regime for Kazakhstani citizens.
