Nazarbayev becomes 'Man of Year' laureateHead of State Nursultan Nazarbayev became “Man of Year” Laureate, Kazinform has learnt from the Presidential press service.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko were also awarded this title in the category of “Public Policy”.  The leaders of three countries were honored for their contribution to The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and Customs Union establishment.

In his telegram to the members of the Expert Council and laureates President Nazarbayev expressed gratitude for the National Award and noted that ‘victory of the Customs Union leaders once again emphasizes the importance of the Eurasian integration.’

“This union has had a remarkable impact on the economic and social development of our countries, in fact, it has proved to be very effective,” the telegram reads.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also expressed confidence that further development of the Customs Union would contribute to the welfare of the citizens of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus.
