New officials appointed in KazakhstanKazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed new officials, the presidential press service said today.

According to the presidential decree, former Minister of Labour and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova was appointed as advisor to the President – Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President.

Erlan Battakov has been appointed as Deputy Manager of the President’s affairs.

Former presidential advisor Krymbek Kusherbayev and deputy manager of the President’s affairs Marat Orazayev were dismissed in connection with their transfer to other positions.

Serik Abdenov appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection

Serik Abdenov has been appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Presidential press-service’s Twitter.

“Serik Abdenov shall be appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection,” the message states.

Serik Abdenov was born in Karaganda oblast on January 15, 1977. He used to work as deputy Akim (Governor) of East-Kazakhstan oblast.

He graduated from Kazakhstan Institute of Law and International Relations with a major in law in 1998 and from Karaganda Economic University with a major in economy in 2004.

He used to work in the Ministry of Justice and served as deputy head of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry’s administration.

In 2003-2004 he worked in commercial structures. Starting from 2004 he worked as deputy director and then director of the Labor and Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. In November 2007 he was appointed Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection. On March 6, 2009 he was appointed deputy Akim of East-Kazakhstan oblast.

New Deputy PM appointed in Kazakhstan

The Kazakh President has appointed Krymbek Kusherbayev to the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the presidential press-service’s Twitter reported on Wednesday.

“Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed K.Kusherbaev as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the Twitter says.

Earlier Kusherbayev served as the presidential adviser.
