The forum finished – partnership keeps going

The meeting of the two Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia in Pavlodar gave additional impetus to economic development of the two countries for a long term outlook.
During the regional forum many topical issues and tasks, cooperation, particularly in space exploration, sharing of the Baikonur complex, management of water resources, protection of trans-boundary rivers, problems of industrial-innovative interregional development, effective cooperation in fuel and energy complex and trade were taken up. In 2011 turnover rose by 30% and exceeded $ 23 billion, in the H1 of 2012 it has exceeded $ 11 billion. More than 20 commercial agreements worth about $ 2 billion were signed in the frames of the forum.
At present the country needs small aircrafts for agricultural, medical purposes, patrol and fight forest fires. And an agreement between Tatarstan and RK on production of small planes in Karaganda and helicopters in Astana was signed.
Tatarstan presented 25 innovative projects at the exhibition in Pavlodar. Among them are production of technical sapphire (JSC “Kama Crystal Technology”) and high-barrier packaging materials (JSC “Danaflex-nano”) and others.
As for auto-production an agreement on production and selling of LADA autos in Kazakhstan was signed between JSC “Asia Auto” and “AvtoVAZ”. In Ust-Kamenogorsk within the next two years on the base of “AziaAvto”, a full cycle auto plant will be constructed, worth $ 5.7 billion the capacity of 120 000 cars a year.
Another important agreement signed was the Memorandum on cooperation between JSC “Samruk-Energo” and JSC “INTER RAO UES” for “Construction of energy block № 4 at Ekibastuz GRES-2” worth $ 900 million.
A memorandum on cooperation was also signed between Pavlodar and Tomsk oblasts, aimed at RK-RF collaboration in industry, agriculture, health, education, science, culture, sports and tourism. In particular, the regions will cooperate in research and exploration works, establishment of new innovative enterprises and organization of mutual deliveries of output, introduction of innovative medical technologies in cardiology, microsurgery, oncology, nursing of newborns in postoperative period, babies with low birth weight, and cooperation in training of specialists in Tomsk universities, post-graduate training of Pavlodar students in Tomsk graduate schools, internships of Pavlodar faculty in Tomsk universities.
The Forum has finished but the cooperation keeps going. Kazakhstan and Russia are able to create a full-term technological and industrial alliance to overcome any crises and shocks.
