Per capita average subsistence minimum calculated on the basis of minimum standards of consumption of basic food products increased by 6.6% in June 2012 compared to the previous month and by 2% compared to June 2011.
Kazakhstan’s subsistence minimum totaled 17,188 tenge or 115 US dollars in June 2012, according to the State Statistics Agency. Last month, the living wage increased by 6.5% compared to June 2011. A 6.6% price deceleration was common for bread, alcoholic drinks, dairy products, bakery and pastry products, fish and seafood, coffee, tea and cocoa, as well as confectionery products. Meat prices were somewhat higher.
