Kazakh President takes part in CSTO informal summit

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has taken part in the informal summit of the leaders of the CSTO member states in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan; Kazinform refers to the Presidential press service.
The presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan congratulated their Kyrgyz counterpart Kurmanbek Bakiyev on re-election to the post of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The heads of the states listened to the report of the CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha on approaches and practical measures on formation of coordinated information policy of the CSTO member countries. They discussed the issues of activity of newly established Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.
They considered an opportunity of construction of a sports base of the CSTO member states on the shore of Issyk-Kul, which could be used for holding of the annual meeting of young patriotic and military and sports unions of CSTO states “Soyuz”.
The leaders exchanged opinions on the international issues including coordination of efforts in overcoming the global crisis consequences, improvement of the architecture of international and regional security, situation in Afghanistan.
