“Kazakhstan moved up 8 places in the World Gender Equity Index, taking 33rd place and ahead of its CIS neighbors,” said Rashida Naubetova, the Secretary of the National Commission for Women and Family-Demographic Policy under the Kazakhstan President.
“Gender Equity Index 2012” was published in early April by the international organization “Social Watch”.
R. Naubetova believes that such a result was achieved due to the political will of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and “the efforts being made in all spheres of our society to implement the Gender Equality Strategy.”
