“Kazakhstan welcomes the decision of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to freeze its nuclear weapons tests,” Kazakh official spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Altai Abibullayev told a briefing.
“Kazakhstan, as country that voluntarily abandoned the nuclear weapons and shut down one of the world’s largest nuclear testing ranges, the Semipalatinsk testing area, stands for general prohibition of nuclear weapons tests, calls all the parties of the negotiation process to take measures on demobilization of the Korean peninsula,” he added.
