Terrorist group crushed in Kazakhstan – prosecutor’s office

A six-member terrorist group has been crushed in Uralsk, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office in Kazakhstan has reported.
“Investigators of the National Security Committee’s department for the Western Kazakhstan Region jointly with the Uralsk city police crushed a six-member terrorist group on February 4 2012,” the press service said in a statement on Wednesday.
A criminal case was started on counts of organizing and running a terrorist group.
“The suspects have confessed to being members of a terrorist organization, which has been objectively confirmed by the evidence gathered,” the press service said.
“Components of homemade bombs and literature popularizing extremism were discovered during searches in their apartments,” it said.
Orders for the arrest of all members of the group were issued on February 7.
“A thorough investigation has been started into the circumstances of the case,” the press service said.
