Prospects for bringing Kazakh-German relations to a strategic level very high - Horst KohlerAs part of his official visit to Germany Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with former Federal President of Germany Horst Kohler, the Presidential press service reported.

Nazarbayev noted that Germany actively supported Kazakhstan since the first days of independence.

“We have a big potential of expanding cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields. We maintain high level contacts, parliamentary ties and interaction between the ministries, departments and business community. The quality and content of the agenda of Kazakh-German relations suggest the possibility of our strategic partnership,” the Kazakh President emphasized.

Mr. Horst Kohler considers the prospects for bringing bilateral relations to a strategic level very high.

“Germany sees Kazakhstan as a stable country conducting consistent political and economic reforms. The recent President’s Address to the nation reflects Kazakhstan’s plans to diversify economy, develop small and medium businesses. As practice shows, this is an area to create new jobs,” Kohler stressed.

Kazakhstan and Germany signed about fifty commercial contracts worth several billion euros – Nazarbayev

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held a briefing for journalists dedicated to the achievements in developing Kazakh-German cooperation, according to the Presidential press service.

The Head of State highlighted the importance of intergovernmental agreements signed during the current visit. These are about fifty commercial contracts worth several billion euros.

“We have created qualitatively new conditions for German companies in Kazakhstan. There was established the Berlin Eurasian Club that will contribute to implementing tasks set by our nations in a global system of world politics. Berlin Eurasian Club will be Kazakhstan’s dialogue platform in Europe to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, regional security, energy cooperation, the Eurasian integration processes.

Kazakhstan and Germany enjoy trust-based dialog – Nazarbayev

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Federal President of Germany Christian Wulff at Bellevue Palace in Berlin, says press service of the Head of State.

Different issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany were discussed during the meeting. The President of Kazakhstan noted that Germany is one of the main partners of Kazakhstan in Europe, and Kazakhstan is the leading economic partner of Germany in Central Asia. Bilateral contacts are active at all levels. The German experience in developing renewable energy sources, introduction of energy-saving technologies, cooperation in healthcare field is of great interest for Kazakhstan.

President Nazarbayev called German entrepreneurs to actively participate in Kazakhstan’s development

President Nursultan Nazarbayev has called the German entrepreneurs to actively participate in development of Kazakhstan at a working dinner.

According to the President, Kazakhstan is ready to propose many kinds of support to German investors, who will implement projects in the priority sectors of our country’s economy. Hence two years ago Kazakhstan joined the Customs Union with Russia and Belarus. As a result a common market with the population of 165 million people and gross domestic product of more than 2 trillion dollars.

Kazakhstan became the gate, which open a road to the CIS market. Our country gives opportunity to enter a billion market of China.

“I am confident that the Federal republic of Germany with its powerful economic potential will take advantage of new mutually beneficial opportunities. Hence I call the German business to actively participate in development of Kazakhstan,” N.Nazarbayev said.
