President Nazarbayev's two-day visit to Germany startedToday President Nursultan Nazarbayev has started his two-day visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.

Within the framework of the visit the Head of State is expected to meet with Foreign Minister of Germany Guido Westerwelle. It is planned that at the meeting the sides will exchange opinions on bilateral and multilateral matters, discuss the problems of the regional and global security. Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov, Aide to the Kazakh President N.Yermekbayev and Kazakh Ambassador to Germany N.Onzhanov will partake in the meeting.

Then the President will attend a session of the Eurasian Club in Berlin, where he will deliver a speech.

During the President’s visit to Germany, he is expected to meet with Federal President Christian Wulff, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, former Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher.

Within the visit it is planned to sign six intergovernmental agreements. Moreover, there is planned completion of about 50 economic documents, the total investments of which make EUR 3.3 billion.

All these projects provide creation of about 30 new productions using advanced German scientific achievements and technologies.

Kazakh President’s visit to Germany indicates an entirely new level of partnership – German FM

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Guido Westerwelle, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, the Presidential press service told Kazinform.

The Kazakh President noted the relationship between the two countries were based on sincere friendship, mutual trust and practical cooperation. Germany continually supports initiatives of Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening peace and security. Kazakhstan welcomes the implementation of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, initiated by Germany. The successful cooperation between our countries in the multilateral diplomacy deserves special attention. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed his gratitude for the support and consultative assistance provided by Germany during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the OSCE.

In turn, Westerwelle said that Kazakhstan is an important political and economic partner of Germany in Central Asia. The visit of the Kazakh leader to Germany and the planned agreements in economic field indicate that our countries bring partnership to entirely new level, the Federal Minister said.

Kazakhstani President, German Foreign Minister discuss situation in Afghanistan, fight against terrorism

As part of his two-day official visit to Germany the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met the country’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, Nursultan Nazarbayev’s press office said.

During the meeting the Kazakhstani President noted that the relations between Kazakhstan and Germany were based on sincere friendship, mutual trust and practical cooperation.

He also emphasized that Germany was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan and was giving continued support to Kazakhstan’s foreign policy initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and security.

In addition, Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan welcomed the EU Strategy for Central Asia proposed by Germany and thanked the country for the support and advice offered during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the OSCE.

In his turn, Guido Westerwelle said that Kazakhstan was Germany’s important political and economic partner in Central Asia.

He emphasized that Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to Germany was evidence to the fact that the two countries were rising to a new level of partnership.

The sides exchanged opinions on the important international issues, such as the peace process in Afghanistan, fight against terrorism and extremism, nuclear non-proliferation, reform of the UN and Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the EU, the press office said.

Kazakhstan managed to keep peace and interethnic concord, effective development of economy and political system- German Ex Foreign Minister

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with ex Vice Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Hans-Dietrich Genscher, said press service of the Head of State.

Nursultan Nazarbayev hearty thanked H.D. Genscher for greetings on the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence and expressed his gratitude for the understanding and support of Kazakhstan since the first days of independence.

In its turn Hans-Dietrich Genscher noted that for the period of sovereignty under the leadership of N.A. Nazarbayev Kazakhstan managed to keep and ensure peace and interethnic concord, effective development of economy and political system.

H.D. Genscher was one of originators of Kazakhstan – German relations. In 1991 he was among the first west politicians who came to Kazakhstan for formal visit. Also he is the author of introduction to the book by Nursultan Nazarbayev “Kazakhstan’s Way” in German, where he highly appreciates the role of the Head of State in building modern Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev held bilateral meetings with heads of leading economic associations, banks and companies of Germany

Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a number of bilateral meetings with heads of leading economic associations, banks and companies of Germany, which are involved in the process of bilateral trade-economic cooperation.

The President’s press service reports.

At a meeting with the Kazakh President Ulrich Grillo, the vice president of the German industry association BDI, Gerhard Schroeder, the former German chancellor and Chairman of the supervisory board of Nord Stream, as well as Peter Tils, Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Georg Denoke, board members of Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Bahn (the German National Railways), Linde AG respectively, expressed their vision and conceptual ideas on further strengthening and development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states.

The heads of German companies noted protection of rights and interests of business in Kazakhstan ensured by the state, which is connected with the state policy conducted in the country that leads to mitigation of the investment climate.

The President, in turn, thanked the heads of the German companies for cooperation. The Head of State called to use the current reserves and potential of interaction more actively. There are great opportunities within the framework of the state program of forced industrial innovative development. The state renders support to foreign investors.
