OSCE/ODIHR to present interim report on preparations for parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. January 4. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Tomorrow the OSCE/ODIHR mission will present an interim report on preparations for early parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan. Miklos Harasti, head of OSCE/ODIHR observation mission has announced after a meeting with Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov.
He noted that the report is devoted to conduction of election campaign, work of mass media and elective bodies and etc.
At the meeting the Kazakh Minister outlined operational deployment of the ODIHR observation mission. Y.Kazykhanov emphasized that “conducting open, fair and transparent elections to the Majilis will be one more demonstration of Astana’s adherence to continuation of progressive democratic development.”
The OSCE/ODIHR mission will complete its work on January 27, 2012. At present 56 observers are working in the country.
