Kazakhstan’s BTA Bank <BTAS.KZ> is still in debt restructuring talks with its creditors and the departure of Goldman Sachs <GS.N> as its advisor will have no impact on the process, the central bank said on Wednesday.

“Work is continuing with regard to BTA,” central bank chairman Grigory Marchenko told reporters.

Commenting on a BTA announcement this month that Goldman will no longer advise it on the restructuring of its $15 billion debt, Marchenko said: “I think this will have no impact on the entire process.”
