Weekly review: budget revenue increased by 28.1%, CU activity took effect, PM MassimovOn July 16, Premier Massimov witnessed the launch of Kazakhstani satellite KazSat 2 from Baikonur space port at 05:16 by the local time.

Before the KazSat launch the Governments of Russia and Kazakhstan signed a protocol which provides for organizational and legal basis for cooperation both in creation and launch of KazSat 2 and ground outer space infrastructure. It will let provide state assistance to the project implementation and grand it an appropriate status at the governmental level of the two states.

Besides, the PM surveyed integration and test building of 92-50 platform of the Baikonur space centre.

The PM held three meetings of the Republican Budget Commission on draft amendments to the Strategic Plans of state bodies, and budget requests of the republican budget projects administrators.

On Tuesday Karim Massimov met with head of the Federal Space Agency Vladimir Popovkin and chairman of the Kazakh space agency Talgat Mussabayev to debate space cooperation, realization of joint scientific research projects and prospects for joint use of Baikonur space port.

On Wed PM Massimov chaired a Board meeting of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

The same day the Premier held a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on implementation of Employment Program 2020 in South Kazakhstan region. Governor of S Kazakhstan region Askar Myrzakhmetov reported on the progress of the program realization, education and assistance in employment of self-employed, jobless and disadvantaged population, entrepreneurship development in the country, socio-economic development, construction of transport infrastructure, education, and so on.

On Thursday, July 21, the Ministry of Transport and Communications hosted an enlarged session on reduction of administrative barriers with the participation of Minister Berik Kamaliyev. As stated there, out of 34 approvals 14 authorization documents will be reduced.

The same day Prime Minister Karim Massimov reported to President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the country’s socio-economic development over the first six months of 2011.

According to him, positive economic trends are observed in the country. For the first half-year GDP increased by 7.1% against the same period of 2010. Short-term economic indicator calculated on six backbone industries made 106.8%. The revenues to the national budget grew by 28.1% while the budgetary gap doubled against the analogous period of 2010.

Thanks to the decisions of President Nursultan Nazarbayev taken during the crunch and anti-crisis periods, thanks to the instructions given on the industrial program development, creation of the Customs Union, anti-crisis measures the effect made for the first six months of 2011 is more than impressive, Massimov told.
