Kazakhstan’s population hits 16.5 million

The population of Kazakhstan has increased to 16.5 million people. More products are produced, received and sold in the country as well. The results of socio-economic development over a six-month period were summed up at the Statistics Agency. GDP growth totaled 7.1%. Foreign trade turnover increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2010. Profit of enterprises advanced 45.5% as well. The average monthly salary reached more than 84 thousand tenge in May. This rate is 12.5% higher than in 2010. The volume of industrial production rose 5.8%. The level of unemployment, inflation and other information can now be obtained through the «Taldau» information and analytical system. Access is open to all users. According to forecasts by the head of statistical agency, inflation may be curbed in a predetermined range from 6 to 8% annually in Kazakhstan.
