Kazakhstan ready to learn Estonian experience in providing electronic public services - NazarbayevDuring his state visit to Estonia Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip on Wednesday; Kazinform refers to the presidential press service.

A. Ansip told about Estonia’s experience in IT field. Since 2000 his country introduced a system of electronic government, which is considered the best in Europe. More than 500 types of services are included in the database.

“We are ready to invite your specialists and learn your experience in providing electronic public services,” the Kazakh President said to the Estonian Premier.

The parties also considered the issues of bilateral cooperation development.

Andrus Ansip congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on reelection as President of Kazakhstan. He expressed confidence that the Nazarbayev’s visit to Estonia would help deepen bilateral relations.

Kazakh cargo transit issues debated in Estonia

A meeting of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev with the executives of the largest Estonian companies held within the state visit of the Head of State to the Republic of Estonia had ended.

Those attending were the heads of Estonian companies such as “Tallinn Seaport”, Tallinn Airport”, “Estonian Airlines”, “Estonian Railways”, “The Baltic shipyard” took part in the talks.

The parties debated issues concerning bilateral cooperation, particularly, in the sphere of passenger and cargo transportation. Nursultan Nazarbayev with satisfaction accepted the proposals of the heads of the Estonian companies. In his turn, the Kazakh Leader noted that cooperation with small countries such as Estonia may be more beneficial than partnership with big countries for it is easier to gain mutual understanding with small ones.

The airport of Tallinn is ready to serve the flights of Kazakhstan’s air companies. Sandor Liiva, the chairman of the board of Eesti Energia company said it after the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the ferry ‘Victoria I’ which was held within the state visit of the Kazakh President to Estonia.

‘We wish that Kazakh people flew to New York through Tallinn. We are all very serious about this issue and hope that it will be realized in the nearest future. Today, at the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan we also talked about it. In fact, there must be direct flights between our countries,’ he said.

S. Liiva expressed his confidence that this visit of N. Nazarbayev would be a good impetus to positively finish the negotiations that had been held between the two countries on cargo-transit issues, primarily.
