Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has emphasized that stability is the only way for a state to achieve success and prosperity.
“The planet is being rocked by sever man-made disasters and natural calamities. Some countries are struggling to prevent ethnic and religious strives. People die in clashes,” the president said at the ceremony of presenting a group of Astana residents with keys to new apartments on Tuesday.
Nazarbayev said, referring to ethnic clashes last year in Kyrgyzstan: “Why did Uzbeks and Kyrgyz have to die in Osh? Why over 380 people were indiscriminately killed with their families and children?” Did they die for a course or defending their homeland? That what happens, if there is neither accord, nor order.”
“Look what is happening in Northern Africa. Egypt alone has lost 10 billion dollars and twice as much money drained from the country. They thought it would be better. However, poverty has increased, people are confused and fleeing to Europe. There are millions of refugees,” the president said.
“That’s why I keep talking about stability in the society, mutual respect and peace. Only stability can guarantee further development, there is no other way,” the president said.
He also noted that every year 30 new outbreaks of armed violence occur in the world. “Many states and nations suffer from instability and no prospects for development. In our country, as you can see, the situation is quite different, we have created an efficient economy, which has expanded by 12 times for the 20 years of independence. None of the new fledgling states in their early years had such high pace of development,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
