G.Kassymov and M.Yeleusizov registered as presidential candidates

G.Kassymov and M.Yeleusizov registered as presidential candidatesRepresentative of the Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan Gani Kassymov and self-nominee, leader of “Tabigat” Ecological Union Mels Yeleusizov were registered by the Central Electoral Commission of Kazakhstan as presidential candidates on Monday.

As CEC Secretary Bakhyt Meldeshev noted, the two candidates submitted all necessary documents for registration, including the protocol on the collection of voters’ signatures. 97 thousand 830 signatures has been collected in the support of Mels Yeleusizov and 99 thousand 728 signature – in support of Gani Kassymov.

Thus, to date four presidential candidates including the two mentioned above have been registered. The other two are representative of “Nur Otan” Party Nursultan Nazarbayev and nominee of the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan Zhambyl Akhmetbekov.



Kazakh CEC accredits first international observers

Kazakhstan’s Central Election Committee (CEC) has accredited first international observers to monitor the upcoming presidential election.

“The Committee received applications for accreditation of 7 observers from France and 2 observers from the International State Institute,” a CEC member Tatyana Ohlopkova said.

The Committee members have unanimously voted to accredit the applicants.
