The Results of 5 Months of 2009 Indicate Kazatomprom

Kazatomprom has summarized its production activity for the last five months. All key production plans are duly implemented. Export supplies are made in compliance with the schedule.
During the last two weeks the top management of Kazatomprom held meetings with the company’s foreign partners discussing the implementation of joint plans starting from uranium mining to new joint production. In particular, negotiations were held with the representatives of Japanese companies – Marubeni, Sumitomo, Nuclear Fuel Industries, Japanese financial and credit and insurance companies and banks – NEХI, JBIC, ERM, ING, Russian company Atomredmetzoloto, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Co., Ltd., Areva (France), Uranium Onе (Canada), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, and some others. In the nearest future the negotiations are to be held with Cameco (Canada), Toshiba (Japan) and Westinghouse Electric (the USA) on further cooperation development.
During the meetings the partners of Kazatomprom stressed the strategic and mutually beneficial nature of existing business relations and their intention to continue cooperation in nuclear fuel sector. In return, Kazatomprom announced that all existing agreements were not going to be changed. “Being the world’s second company on uranium production Kazatomprom understands its responsibility for resources provision of the world nuclear power industry, – summarized the President of Kazatomprom, Mr. Vladimir Shkolnik. – As such, we are going to continue achieving the company’s rates of development in order to cover the growing demand in our products.”
