Up to date over 40 heads of state and government have confirmed their participation in the OSCE summit to be held on December 1-2 in Astana.
“Confirmations of participation keep coming in. To date, over 40 heads of state and government have confirmed their participation. (…) These are mostly heads of state from the European continent and the Asian region,” said director of OSCE department, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Sergent Abdykarimov at a press conference on Friday in Astana.
Responding to the question how Kazakhstan plans to surprise its guests coming for the summit, Adbykarimov said: “We have already surprised all by the fact that after 11 years we reached a consensus on holding a summit.”
“This is the biggest surprise, because no one expected Kazakhstan to succeed in convincing all OSCE states to sit down at a negotiating table and discuss all the current problems faced by the organization,” he said.
